Lorena Guillén Vaschetti was born in Argentina in 1974, where she currently lives. She studied Architecture and Anthropology in the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). In 2004 Lorena started dedicating herself to the photographic arts. Since then her photographic work has been featured in numerous and has been exhibited throughout Latin America, the United States and Europe, in institutions such as the Museet for Fotokunst, Odense, Denmark; Fotofest, Houston, TX; the Southeast Museum of Photography, Daytona, FL, and the AA Gallery, London, UK. Her first monograph, historia, memoria y silencios (Schilt, 2011) was awarded as best book of the year by PDN and Photo España 2012.
